Well, maybe it wouldn't be as scary if the teeth weren't there but they were and the Slytherin shivered a little. But he also knew that he couldn't just sit and watch, he needed to help as well. He pulled on his dragon hide gloves and stepped to a boy who seemed to be around his age and smiled a bit nervously at him. "Hey, i'll be your partner~" he said as he pulled his gloves over his wrists and waited for the boy to answer.
Spike patted the little piranha plant as he glanced round for a partner to appear. If none did, he'd more than happily do it all himself. This was an awesome first lesson back!
As the Slytherin appeared, Spike returned his smile warmly. "Great!" he welcomed, before holding out his gloved hand for introductions. "Spike Hutchinson," he said with an excited bounce of his curls. "Looking forward to working with you," he added, oblivious of the Snake's nerves.
"Aren't they just the cutest things?" he asked genuinely, gestering towards the piranha plant. "You want to brush first, or me?"
