Ariana grinned: good, an easy question to start off with. She thrust her hand in the air to answer, trying to clearly establish the fact, since the teacher was new, that she was one of the ones that answers questions, instead of just sitting there staring awkwardly with bulging eyes. Like frog eyes. Mhm. Frogs.

Of course her thinking was getting off-topic, and she quickly blinked and refocused.

"I think that before doing anything, one should make sure that there are no distractions in the immediate area. Sometimes soft, natural sounds are okay, but nothing loud and obnoxious." 'Like a little sister...' Ariana wanted to say, but she refrained from doing so. It did take great willpower.

"The next thing to do would be to try and clear one's mind of unnecessary thoughts and focus on the divining or reading or whatever." Kind of a lame ending, but overall Ariana was satisfied with her answer.
