The
Muggle Studies professor walked down the middle of the Great Hall. She glanced up at the ceiling and, even after four years of teaching and attending Hogwarts for seven, she was still in awe of the amazing roof in the Great Hall. She wished she could charm every ceiling in her house just like the ceiling in the Great Hall.
She brought her gaze from the ceiling back down with a smile, her usual excited smile that always seemed to be on her face and she clicked down the walk with excitement as she nodded her head at familiar student faces at the table giving out an occasional 'Hello' or 'How was your break' and answering those questions given to her as she went.
As she approached the Staff table, she glanced up and down quickly taking in old and new faces and lingering just for a second on the other end of the table to see a certain chair empty, for now atleast.
In her hand, she carried a little blue purse full of goody bags of Muggle candy for each of the professors.
She decided to say hello to all of the professors already seated and began at the opposite end of the table from her and walked by each of the professors smiling and giving them a goody bag as she went....

His thoughts were clearly everywhere BUT here, but mostly they were on the small fire still burning out in his barn. A deliberate fire, to be sure, but one he hadn't left unattended for hours at a time since he'd gotten back to Hogwarts.
Tapping his fingers more loudly, Willy glanced down at his watch again and let out a small sigh. Were the firsties sorted yet??? She smiled at Willy and placed a goody bag in front of him...she wondered if O had mentioned her to him over the summer or if they had talked about O visiting her in Florida for a couple of weeks...she pushed those thoughts out of her mind, "
Well, W Cubed, I hope you had a good break and good travels." Quote:

Callie had arrived at the Castle only a few days ago but hadn't really socialized with many of her collegues, any really, and had pretty much been up in the Divination Tower trying to pile all of her things into the office and classroom that looked to have been vacated for a few years. Walking up to the Staff Table that was situated on the raised dias, the new Divination Professor felt a little awkward that she seemed to be pretty early.
Not many students had arrived yet and there was only one other adult. She immediately recognized him from their meeting in the Magical Menagerie over the summer.
"Hello there. Looks like we are going to be meal neighbors." She said with a small grin as she plopped down into her seat just two away from his. He seemed distracted. She fidgeted with the strap of her dress and began to tap a sandel on the ground below the table.
"So I didn't happen to catch your name the other day." It was strange she had introduced herself but the man seemed to have been to distracted to do her the pleasure. "Unless your parents named you Care of Magical Creatures?"
Smirk. Gemma smiled at the new face sitting beside Willy, she extended her hand, "
Gemma Cerulean, Muggle Studies..." and with her other hand she laid down the goody bag of candy.

Pouring herself a goblet of pumpkin juice, she sat patiently and waited for the sorting to begin. Seren was curious to see how many young lions she would be welcoming to her pride this school year.
Sipping from her goblet, she continued to observe the students from her seat, a careful eye scanning over the Gryffindor table on the lookout for mischief.
She smiled at Seren and handed her a goody bag, "
You are looking beautiful as usual Seren...hope you had a good break!" Quote:

She set down the goody bag in front of the Headmaster and nodded her head a little bit up and down, "
Hope you had a good break boss." Quote:

Arriving at the staff table, she nodded to a few of the Professors she passed, including the Headmaster, and noted just who she would be sitting next to. Oh of course! The new Divination professor. "Calista." Medea greeted with a smile as she sat down comfortably in her own seat. "Nice seeing you again."
As she laid down the goody bag, Gemma said with her usual smile, "
Good to see you back Medea..." Quote:

He hadn't missed sorting.
What a shame.
Just like the previous terms, Scabior had only arrived in the castle few hours before the start of the fast. What was the point in coming sooner? There was none, he was going to be in the stone building for ten months anyways. He had wanted to squeeze as much as he could out of his holiday.
Taking his seat he gave a nod to the professors, that were there. Bentley. Tate. William. Medea. A new female he hadn't had the chance of meeting yet...who seemed to be wearing feathers. And even to the Gryffindor prefect who never seemed to know where her seat was.
But it wasn't up here.
"Seren. Taters." Dash greeted his closest colleagues with thin smile, unintentionally showcasing the large gash on his lower lip.
She never really knew what to say to Dash, so with a smile she just laid down the goody bag in front of the man and said, "
Good to see you!" Quote:

At least Eddie wasn't the type who would bother her and expect intensive conversation at the feast.
Walking between down the aisle next to the Hufflepuff table, she couldn't help but glance for the new faces, as tired as she was. And also wonder if she missed all the students getting sorted or only just most. It wasn't until she reached her seat when she suddenly remembered that Eddie wasn't coming back. Ugh. She was NOT looking forward to making small talk with a new Astronomy Professor. Her only saving grace was the two Astronomy Professors she'd sat next to during her tenure at Hogwarts, weren't big talkers. She'd only hope the same could be said for the new one.
She was soooo out of it, that she didn't even notice the feather-wearing blond in the Divination Professor's seat.
Gemma's face lit up as she saw one of her favorite professors, and with a smile she laid down the goody bag in front of the professor, "
Hope you had a great break...we should meet for tea one evening..." Quote:

Her eyes lingered on the HufflePuff table as she tried to spot her son.
He had better not be one of them using his outside voice inside or he would certainly would be made to answer for her. She turned her eyes to the Slytherin table where she had sat many years ago. Ah yes, memories.
At the end of her nostalgia, she made her way to her seat giving a nod to each professor she passed, before settling into her seat.
She made it just in time for the professor to sit down in her seat, Gemma extended her hand to the woman, "
Welcome to Hogwarts....Gemma Cerulean, Muggle Studies..."
