It was embarrassing, still...and he was a little concerned that this girl could get him to start rambling like that, but he was more reassured by the gentle weight of Aspen leaning against him. Most of his worries washed away as he realized that he was really sitting next to her for the first time in a month.

He was just glancing around the Platform when he suddenly heard Aspen start to address him, and when he returned his eyes to her she had on a face of mild determination, suggesting the different kinds of couples they could be. Hogwartsians, hand holders, quill pals... She was listing and she clearly had on an expression that showed she just wanted to be writing all of this down in some kind of organized, neat list. His eyebrows rose. And then Cornelius was smiling his most natural smile, because Aspen was clearly trying to make him feel better. Just her talking made him feel better. And so he grinned at her, his light brown eyes completely amused with her as she asked what other kind of couple they should be.

"We don't have to add anything to the list," he decided suddenly, sitting up a bit as he turned to her. The only reason he started rambling in the first place was to make sure they were still alright, and it was clear now that they were both still in the same place they had been. He didn't really care what they were called, he just wanted to make sure that they were still in the same place as before; this hand-holding, letter-writing, ACEs place. And they quite clearly still were. So Aspen going out of her way to try and define them as different kinds of couples was an appreciated effort, but he suddenly realized he didn't care. He just quite clearly cared about her, his light brown eyes scanning her expression with an amused smile as she stopped her listing with his words.

"Let's just...keep doing whatever it is we're doing," he suggested softly. For the first time in about a month, Cornelius reached up his free hand and tucked some of Aspen's hair out of her face, placing it behind her ear. His smile widened just slightly at this familiar gesture and before he really even thought about it, he had leaned forward and placed a warm kiss to her cheek for the second time that day.

Aspen was a little pink in the cheeks as she and Cornelius boarded the train. She wasn't embarrassed or bothered with his affections, but more... pleased and happy and worried and floaty and THINGS on top of things. She was still going to keep adding to their LIST of things they were a couple of, but mentally. For now.

...speaking of things on top of things... Aspen's eyes wandered to the ceiling of the train corridor.

She wasn't exaggerating earlier when she mentioned that her little brother liked to climb things. "Do you think the conductors will check the train's roof before setting off? Maybe I should ask them to..."

Aspen still had Cornelius by the hand, easing through the corridor and peeking into each passing compartment. So far.... no West Odessa.
