She was hoping she wasn't invited because she was now the wife of the Minister of Magic. That would really make her angry. She was Hecate Lafay... she insisted she'd be her own person, and not someone's wife...
Maybe the shopkeeper was a secret fan of her work? She did have a rejuvenating potion... but that was... not exactly... legal... nor was it widely known she trafficked in black market potions.
" Captain?" She called. Quote:

Madame Primpernelles Beautifying Potions, it read. Beautifying potions? His eyebrows creased inward a little as he wondered what sort of business he had at a place that sold beautifying potions. Hearing his wife's voice, he turned back toward the entrance. He could, maybe, meet a new acquaintance or two today. He was always looking for somebody else to do business with.
Stepping into the shop, he fell into place at his wife's side. "A beautifying potions store," he said, glancing around the lounge. "Hmm..." He attempted eye contact at a face across the room and nodded a polite greeting. With a smirk, as he just couldn't help it, he tilted his head sideways toward his wife and whispered, "You going to start brewing beauty products or something, Potions Mistress?" Quote:

She eyed the woman who waved to them... who was she? Quote:

"Of course I'm not suggesting you use," and then he gestured toward the products, "any of this." "It was a joke, Hecate. I figured you wouldn't brew anything of the sort," he said with a grin. Even though she could and would likely outsell anything in the establishment. He gave a polite wave to a woman across the room. "Inez Grey, Armen Recard's replacement in Magical Transportation," he said. He could almost read her mind and follow her line of thinking about the woman. "...and what's put you in such a mood?" She'd said she wasn't in the best of moods, after all. Quote:

She said and gave a smile to the woman who had taken Armen's place... Armen was a gopher... a little insignificant puppet. But she knew him... and he tended to do everything she asked of him...
... plus. She didn't like this pretty woman working so close with her husband. [/color]
Lucifera Valentine was already in the shop awaiting her guests when she saw Hecate Lafay walk in first, shortly followed by the minister. She wanted to give them some breathing space before walking over to them, but when she realized no one else was giving them space, and there seemed to be a group of people lining up to speak to them, she gracefully pushed through the crowd with an obviously fake apologetic look and a few eye rolls here and there. When she reach the couple she spoke firmly and assertively. "Madame Lafay," she leaned over and softly pressed her right cheek against Lafay's, then did the same for the left one, and as she did this she made a soft smacking sound with her lips. "I'm Lucifera Valentine, the shopkeeper. We're honored to have you here, you smell lovely," she said as she returned to an upright position. "I have followed some of your work, and I must offer you an opportunity, if you ever brew a beauty-related potion, to display and sell your work here."
She then turned to the Minister and instead of kissing him, she took his hand and shook it lightly. "Hello, Minister, I'm Lucifera Valentine, the shopkeeper. Thank you for taking time off your busy schedule, Minister Greingoth. We truly appreciate it." She said the words and affirmed her statement with another nod. She didn't really know what else to say to him, plus he was a little too tall and she didn't like looking up to men. "Thank you for helping us with the nargles problem, by the way. I'm not sure I could have taken care of that without some of your staff members." SPOILER!!: Ern RPing with herself Quote:

Still... best laid plans. With her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, plus two small children, in tow, they showed up whenever schedules dictated. Even if that meant that several of the special guests had arrived already.
Ellsworth touched bottles and phials as she entered the store, although she waved at several people waiting near the door, including Evolette and the Minister's Wife. "Look! Would it be terribly cliched to stand under the banner?" "Terribly," Copernicus Kettleburn agreed dryly, although he didn't see that there was anywhere more logical for Ellsworth to stand. Why... exactly had they come with her?
He shifted the double stroller carefully through the aisle. It was nice to get the babies out whenever possible, especially for such a special day for Ellsworth and Celandine, but this was a precarious sort of place for little fists and feet. Charlotte watched everything with bright eyes, and he was just SURE that as soon as he parked, she'd find a way to turn herself purple. Out of the corner of her eye Lucifera caught a very familiar face. She approached Miss Ellsworth, and gave her a light tap in the shoulder. "I hope I'm not interrupting," she said sternly. Actually she did hope she was interrupting, she secretly enjoyed interrupting people. "I'm Lucifera Valentine, the one you who has been contacting you for the past few weeks." She performed the same cheek-to-cheek kiss she had done to Lafay, then gestured to the Ellsworth displays. Hopefully she would be pleased with the displays, although there was still time for alterations if they weren't to her liking. "We are very happy and extremely honored to sell your items here and to have you here for our re-opening." "And this is..." she said turning to the gentleman next to her. SPOILER!!: Celandine Quote:

Really it was clever to show up on Evee's tail, since most of them were pointed her way, and they hadn't had much time to adjust at the sudden appearance of Celandine Toussaint Kettleburn, her perfect (but admittedly unremarkable to the press outside of those interested in academia), and her sister-in-law, the CEO and creator of the Ellsberry line.
OF COURSEEEeE Cela was wearing HER perfume, Breathe. So pretty! Even seeing Lafay here didn't steal away her smile. The former Ravenclaw and former head girl, class of '72, simply gave the woman a polite nod of acknowledgement as she swept into the room, all sunshine smiles for everyone present. Where was the new proprietress? Lucifer was bouncing from one person to another, but in between her nostrils tingled at the smell of a very familiar fragrance. "Ah, I can see you've already helped yourself to some of the Ellsworth products," she commented as she lightly rested her hand on one of the lady's shoulder. That was supposed to be a hug, a warm and fuzzy one at that. |
