Vickers paused for a moment considering his answer. It could really be just a personal preferrence thing but he raised his hand and offered this guess
"Professor, is it because ochre is a naturally occurring red or brown color paint which are usually sourced from rocks? If one wishes to keep their runes 'all-natural' it would make sense to use paint material that can be found easily in nature versus one that is synthetic like those found in crafts stores."
