He shrugged while saying this and then heard his stomach growl much louder than expected. "And," he said while picking Milton up in one hand and picking his bag up in his other hand. "I believe you've got a...friend...you've got to sort things out with now." He looked her straight in the eye, "Say goodbye to Milton?" If it wasn't for the duck, they probably wouldn't have made it this far anyway.
"I think I am," was the only reply she could come up with. Hailey rolled her eyes as his stomach growled but couldn't help grinning either. As he stood up and grabbed Milton, she nodded at him.
"Yeah, you're right." Looks like she would be hunting down Mikey soon.
Before he left, though, Hailey smiled and took Milton in her hands.
"Goodbye Milton. I'm sorry for throwing you in the pond," She whispered to the duck. "And thank you for telling me the truth," She added. She gave him a peck on his beak and then returned him to his owner.
And then she had to hug the owner, too. Cause he was just awesome in so many ways.
"Thanks, Hunter."
And now, she had to go find that best friend of hers.
