Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

Spike grinned as Professor Bentley tried to shuffle around some papers and apparently try to make some room on the desk. It didn't bother him really. This was positively neat and minimalist compared to Spike's usual chaos.

"I hope so," Spike said with a nod. "I was hoping to put some of my extra time to good use," he added. In other words, he was after a distraction from the lack of Quidditch - and a break from his extra Charms and Transfiguration that his parents couldn't quibble too much. Extra-curricular Herbology sounded good to parents, right? And if he wanted to take his Herbology seriously past OWLs, he needed to do some 'proper' research.

As the Professor peered round for the ball of fluff, Spike followed her gaze under the desk. Spotting Caltex under there, Spike pulled his legs a bit further under his chair. It wasn't that he didn't like the fluffball, afterall Spike liked nearly all types of creature, but he didn't want to kick him accidentally or wake him up. Plus, there were more important things to talk about...

Placing the seeds on the desk, carefully Spike turned his attention back to the potted plant. "Well, I said ages ago you needed some more blue in here..." he started with a bounce of his curls. "And there seems to be a whole lack of blue plants in general compared to other colours...so I started experimenting." He pushed the pot towards her gently. "This is one of my results. One I'm pretty chuffed with actually. And I thought you might like it. Even if red is more suiting now..." He gave a little pout at that. Bentley being with the Gryffs was weird.

"It's a Chiming BlueBell. I've managed to train mine, of sorts. Naturally it sounds a bit like a windchime, catching in the breeze." All twinkly and pretty and relaxing, and perfect background noise for work. "But it can also start to pick up actual proper tunes. It copied my whistling, for example...and then started mimicking my alarm clock. At the correct time and everything." He looked at it proudly, though admittedly the alarm clock trick wasn't quite so fun at the weekends. "I think I picked the one that isn't so advanced, so you could have the choice..." Afterall, she might not want a Chiming Bluebell wake up call every morning.
