"So like some of you said, the Chamber of Secrets was created by Salazar Slytherin." No big secret there he assumed. "Salazar did not like the fact that Muggleborns would be allowed in the school. The other founders disagreed with that. After many fights he decided to leave the school, but not before creating the chamber." Scabior was rushing slighting, most of them knew this right?
"He created the chamber to hold the Basilisk- a creature that can kill you if you look it in the eyes- which Slytherin intended to use to rid the castle of any Muggleborns. Slytherin wasn't planning on doing this himself though. Why? You're guess is as good as mine." He paused. "My guess is simply that true Slytherins get other people to do their work for them.? There was nothing wrong with that "Anyways, Slytherin left the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets and said that his rightful heir would arrive and take care of the Muggleborns."
"The other founders searched for years and they were not able to find the Chamber. And then no one thought anything of it until the heir arrived and the chamber was opened in 1942." He looked around the class. "Any one care to tell me who the heir was? And maybe even some of the events that happened once the Chamber was opened the first time?"
Sierra looked at Scabior with a thoughtful look. It was almost an intense look coming from her, as she was thinking long and hard about the decisions and actions of her beloved house founder. Sure, the man had done a few wrongs here and there, but he had greatness in him, a fact that was often overlooked.
"Tom Marvolo Riddle was the heir of Slytherin," she said, raising her hand. It must be awesome to be chosen as
the heir of Slytherin. Sierra had no desire to go around killing people, but to be chosen as the heir of Slytherin? That'd be an honor to her. Take away the chamber, the basilisk, and all the insane things Voldemort did, and being the heir of Slythering wasn't so bad.
"One thing that had happened when the chamber was opened, was that a man by the name of Rubeus Hagrid was once blamed for its opening. He was a student here at the time, and he got expelled and was no longer allowed to return as a student. It was only after decades passed that it was discovered Riddle was the one to open it and the one to frame Hagrid."
