Wand still at the ready, Kurumi gave a quick nod towards the Headmaster before positioning herself between the Hufflepuff student and the creature. At least he wasn't screaming now, that made things a little less complicated.

But then, Kurumi saw Oakey hanging out by the fence and her eyes widened. MERLIN! What was it with Hufflepuffs this year?! It was almost as if they had a death wish or something. "Oakey, stay there," she hissed under her breath. Not that the fence was going to prove to be any sort of obstacle for the creature should it decide to try and turn him into an Oakey burger...

Looking over her shoulder now at the Hufflepuff nearest her, Kurumi lowered her voice. "Nate...I suggest you either lower your wand or remove that bandanna from around your mouth. You won't be able to cast any spells that way." Her gaze then shifted back to the chimaera as it paced and gave the group a hungry look. As long as it stayed where it wa----

Like a bolt of lightening, the creature pounced, knocking Professor Scabior over and leaping over the Headmaster. Kurumi flicked her wand and attempted to cast a Knockback Jinx, but the chimaera was too fast and its claws connected with her right arm and threw her like a rag doll out of the way. Kurumi eventually landed several feet away from where she had just been and heard a loud cracking noise. MERLIN! She had broken her back! Slowly, she reached behind her back and...oh, never mind. It was only a carrot.

She attempted to push herself off the ground, but her left arm collapsed under her own weight and a sharp pain shot through it and up to her shoulder. The chimaera had also given her a pretty deep gash out of her arm and she figured that she was done for...

...until she saw that its sights were set on the little Hufflepuff. Hopefully he remembered the Headmaster's command of DON'T DIE.
