Even if she admitted that there was something wrong, Adam was wrong. She was not afraid that telling someone was going to hurt her. She just was sick and tired of relying on others for everything. Constant help from the outside made you weak, and that is ALL she had ever done. Crying on someone's shoulder. Letting someone comfort her about something. Everything up to this point had been nothing compared to what she was facing now. No one could help her. No one.

Why she had gotten all defensive when he just wanted to see if she was all right, he did not know.

One thing was certain. They were starting the new year like how they had started each year recently. On a negative beginning.
