Maxwell laughed at Tayla's response. He then put his pointer finger and thumb in his mouth and whistled a very sharp whistle. Moments later from his dorm room his pet Phoenix came flying into the common room and perched itself on his shoulder.
Tayla put her hands together and rested them on her lips as a phoenix swooped in and landed on Maxwell's shoulder.
"Wow," she said, totally taken by surprise. She looked from the phoenix to Maxwell to the phoenix again.
"That's a phoenix," she said, then smiled.
"She's beautiful! Or should I say he?" Tayla couldn't stop looking at the phoenix and wanted very much to pet it.
"How'd you get one?"
