Gideon looked relieved as his question was answered to the affirmative. One less thing he had to accomplish for the task at hand, and at times the hardest part. Though when his partner glanced back towards the professor, he was curious as to the reason. Was he just interested like he was as to when they would be begining? Or was there another reason entirely? As the Ravenclaw spoke once more however there were a few clues that could lead to a possible conclusion.

Stuttering...a sign of nerves?

"I'm Gideon," he returned, accepting the offered handshake politely before releasing the other boy's hand. "Aye...I have. Participated in the dueling club last term. Not that hard really," he explained trying to reassure the Ravencl--Vickers, who certainly appeared to be nervous about the whole thing.
