Calm as could be, Alexander just looked toward the Bell woman, waiting for her to say something. Anything. He peered down toward the basket in her hands, grinning when he noticed that she'd brought along food. He tried to soften his facial expression as much as possible. She seemed terrified, but for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why.

"Ms. Bell," he said again, "why don't you just come on in and take a seat?" He flicked his wand, and a chair propped against the side wall came galloping toward his desk. It came to a stop on the opposite side from where he'd sit, inviting the Bell woman to have a seat.

He sat down in his chair and looked around the office. "Well, thank you. I have my assistants to thank for a lot of it, though," he said. "So," he added, restacking a bit of loose paperwork and moving it off to the side, "what can I do for you today?"
