Jez raised an eyebrow at Nate. She was finding it really hard to stay annoyed at him. In fact she'd found it very hard not to go over and give him a hug when he described his parents' deaths. "Who said anything about following Keegan and Des' instructions?" she asked, smiling slightly. "Personally, I wouldn't follow Des' anyway, but if we're going to survive we're going to have to think for ourselves a lot. Although Keegan will probably want to chain us up in a nice safe place until the holidays roll around again." She reflected glumly on this prediction. Keegan had become even more protective since Team Wolf had made an appearance in their lives, which was understandable. But when you consider how protective he was before Team Wolf ... you could see Jez's problem. "If he thinks we're just going to lie low like a bunch of rats all summer," she muttered, kicking at a small rock which bounced into the pond, scaring a few ducks. That only made Jez feel worse.
