Although he certainly was not that little anymore...the dog easily came up to Adam's waist if not higher.

A part of Adam was quite thankful that Louisa decided not to comment on his embarrassed face. Perhaps she was just as embarrassed about the situation as he was. Paulie and him were definitely going to be chatting and depending on what exactly it was that Paulie said would determine whether or not he pushed the matter later on with Louisa. Adam was just really hoping that it wasn't something that meant Adam should be shoving his head into the ground in shame. At the mention of Paulie's look Adam gave a little chuckle. "He is pretty notorious for that look of his...but it's just so Paulie you know?" Adam said with a laugh. Of course Adam was familiar with the look considering Paulie had given it to him on more than one occasion when he was plotting something or telling Adam something that Adam probably wouldn't openly admit out loud to anyone.

Adam understood what she meant. "Well, once people see the two of you interacting for themselves they should see that it's a big misunderstanding," Adam said with a small nod. At least Adam was assuming that it was a definite misunderstanding, and Louisa's reaction definitely made it seem that way. He hadn't meant for his silence to be so obvious, but really he shouldn't have been that surprised. Louisa had an uncanny knack for picking up on his emotions and addressing them. Figuring that there was no point in trying to deny anything, Adam shifted uncomfortably, plucking out a couple blades of grass.

"Rubiey broke up with me," Adam said with a gentle shrug, clearing his throat since the sentence had come out so husky.

Awww, hearing more news from JB made Louisa in a better mood. She hugged her knees and rested her chin over them. "Chasing after a squirrel, eh? He's still so energetic then. Did he show any more magic abilities? Is he apparating and disapparating again?"

Just so Paulie? Well. Yeah. Kind of. Shrugging one shoulder, she replied, "I guess so. Well, the detention wasn't all bad." Louisa didn't want to go all day criticizing the boy's best mate. Even she wasn't that rude. "Aside from wearing completely filthy and hideous shirts, I think I was able to connect with him." Pause. "Just a little." Another pause. "When he shut up." Chuckling, she gave up, "I don't know. He did kill the spider for me. That was chivalrous." Hmm. Oh wait. "But he called Little John." A frown made its way to Louisa's brows. It was a complete cycle, she'd find something nice about the boy and then one of his tease words would pop up and made her change her mind. But she did try! For Adam. She did.

The next bombing news, though, made Louisa's jaw drop. "She- what?" HOW COULD SHE! That stupid little girl! Pfffffft, see? Louisa wouldn't dislike someone for nothing! She had a gift of pointing out jerks, apparently. "I'm so sorry, Adam. That's bad. How? When? Why?" You know, the usual.
