Post 6 curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog Just when he'd been hoping the flying squirrel was about to let go of his broom...ANOTHER squirrel latched on to his broom, this time clinging to the handle a few uncomfortable inches from his bum. Now this was starting to turn into a nightmare of epic proportions.
Alex noticed that his broom was slowly getting lower...and lower...and lower...those things were weighing him down! Merlin, how heavy WERE they? Just when he was about to turn around and try and bat them off, a third squirrel joined the party and landed in between the two already hitch-hiking squirrels, and Alex knew it was time to get DOWN.
Lowering his broom handle so he came down to a stop, he stumbled once his feet started to touch the ground and he tumbled onto the grass, his right hand still grasping the broom tightly. Those squirrels STILL hadn't let go! What was with them?! "Get off!" he grumbled, picking up the broom like a bat and shaking it to try and get them loose. "Come on you wretched things...FLYYYY!" he said, twirling around in a circle with the broom held in front of him like a stick as he tried to shake them off. Finally, one came off and darted away, and a few moments later the other two let go as well. One flew off, while the other decided it hadn't taken too kindly to being flung around like a fish and jumped at Alex's face. He let out another shriek and dropped the broom as the squirrel kicked off his cheek and flew off to terrorize some other student.
Defeated, Alex sat on the ground and crossed his arms moodily. There was no damage to the broom, thank Merlin, but the only thing Alex had learned today was something he had already been well aware of--animals did NOT like him.
