"You know that lilypad thingie? Well I fell over after finishing that and landed on my wrist. I'm just glad I didn't fall into the water, although I came close a few times," Amelia replied as she looked at the ice and then at the lack of things it could be wrapped in. This was so not good. Mainly because Amelia really hated cold things. "Maybe we could wrap it in my scarf?" Amelia suggested as she unwound her lightweight scarf from around her neck.
The ice would likely soak through it pretty quickly but it would at least keep the ice from freezing her hand straight away. Which was a plus.
"That's sweet. I don't miss my parents much at all. I haven't had too much to do with them since I was three so I suppose it's easy not to miss them. That's a little sad, that you don't miss home because you haven't really stayed in one place all that long... But I suppose it's good that you've been so many places. It must have been magical. Tell me more about Arizona?" she asked, genuinely curious about his time there.
"Mebbe the charms professor would be the better way." he said chuckling "Don' know if I'd want te risk blowing up yer picture while trying te charm it." Isaac looked forward to it either way! Because if he learned how to do that, he could send pictures to his family and even to Amelia when they were apart!
His jaw dropped as she explained her first injury. "Ouch!" That was one thing his dad had taught never put your hand down to brace your fall, and he still never was able to remember that when he was falling. It was why he'd broke the same arm 3 times! "I know what ye mean about nearly falling in the water and landing on the beach wrong. I was soaked when I slid off jus' barely staying on the lilypad, and got a mouthful of sand upon bouncing off the last lilypad onte the beach."
Taking the scarf he wrapped it around the ice completely until it had quite a number of layers between the ice and her hand. He wondered if the water repelling spell would keep it from soaking through the scarf...
Giving a lopsided smile as she said it was sweet "I can't imagine not missing me parents, but I can see why, if they're more inte yer brother then ye." he said softly as he gently picked up her hand again lightly touching it with the scarf covered ice. The smile grew as she asked about Arizona "Well, it is super hot there, most of the time, but at the bottom of the canyon where we lived was quite a bit cooler. I loved climbing the rocks and exploring the caves. It was a bit difficult at times, but whenever I reached the top, it was totally worth the climb."
