Alex took off his glove and lightly touched the soil, pleased to find that it had heated up relatively fast and was nice and warm to the touch. Time for the seed! He stood up, put his gloves on again and made sure both his goggles and gloves were fastened tight, and then headed over to the professor to get his seed. He picked one up and held it in his cupped hands...if it was a cold winters day, this would be a lovely way to warm up your hands but on a warmer than average fall day, like today, it was not that pleasant.
He placed it carefully on top of the soil and waited, listening to a very faint crackling as it made contact with the soil.
