Once the spell bounced off his shield he blinked at the girl a couple of times. Right. That did not go as planned. "Erm. Sorry 'bout that. You just...startled me. You...wanna try again?" He blushed, not looking at her, and even reached out to take her arm softly so that she could try again.

Will it work? Will it work!?!, Gwen thought and waited for the spell to hit him. WHAT!?

‘Merlin’s beard’, Gwendolyn mumbled looking rather surprised. What is wrong with you?!, the Ravenclaw wanted to snap back, but didn’t. He might get upset and then I’ll have to practice on twigs, paper or boring stuff. However, as she listened to his explanation, she couldn’t help raising her eyebrows. Startled? Psh…please… ‘All right?’, she said, still looking puzzled. Not upset. Just puzzled.

If I wanna try again? ‘Of course’, she answered curtly. Grabbing her wand back, the third year wanted to make sure he SAW it this time. Now- I’m pointing the wand at you. This means I’ll cast a spell. This means you just have to stay, she thought. ‘Relashio!’, the girl said loud and clear, hoping that this time the spell would work.

‘Err…I don’t believe we met before’, the Ravenclaw began saying. ‘I’m Gwen, by the way. Gwen Greene’ There. Now you know who the crazy partner is.
