Sour Patch kids...Kurumi had never heard of this particular candy before. She popped one of the candies into her mouth and her face immediately contorted. So that was why they were called Sour Patch kids. Kurumi handed Selina back the box. She would stick with popcorn for now...which was now all over the ground. Sigh.
Kurumi pushed herself off her seat and began picking up the pieces, returning them to the container when there was a loud BOOM and the title screen saying The Lion King appeared. This movie had far too many loud noises...
"I don't think that is quite right..." Kurumi replied now that the floor was all clean. She sat back down in her seat and ate from her own small container of popcorn. Her eyes widened when the scary looking lion practically squished a helpless little mouse. Why would a lion even bother eating a mouse? There was hardly any meat on them and lions needed to eat so much more. "MOUSE!" she squeaked, pointing to the screen. But then a bird showed up. Well, not just any bird, a Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill, showed up and saved the mouse. "I like him," Kurumi decided. But then that horrible lion SWALLOWED the bird and Kurumi gasped.
Thankfully, another lion showed up, one with a very soothing and powerful voice. One that Kurumi wouldn't mind read her the dictionary really. She decided that she liked this lion very much. Wait...they were brothers...as in the one was evil? And the one had a son named Simba. Why did all this sound sort of...familiar? She had never seen this film before...but she knew of a show she had watched a child about a white lion named Kimba whose aunt was evil and had killed his father and made the little lion cub feel as though he had done it.
"Selina...I don't like this lion...I think he is going to kill his brother and make the son think he did it..."
Selina chuckled at Kurumi's response to the food group thing and shrugged it off. If Kurumi wanted to think that she was doing bad things to her health by eating only the most health conscious and brilliant food that was her loss. Which reminded Selina, she had to make sure to head down to the Common Room after the movie was over. They were serving red velvet cupcakes the size of Selina's face at dinner and she was not sure that she could miss that spectacle to be honest. It was a rare and happy day when red velvet surfaced in the Great Hall... a truly joyous day.
When Kurumi took Selina's candy box of what happened to be her favorite muggle candy she had tried Selina pouted. She started to grab for her candy box until Kurumi gave it back to her without a fuss. As soon as she got her candy back Selina drew it close to her chest and vowed to not share ever again. HER CANDY!
As soon as the movie started, however, her candy was forgotten in her lap as she claws dug themselves into the arm rest. It was too loud and there were too many things moving too fast. The whole endeavor was just too much excitement for Selina. She felt slightly panicked at the whole ordeal.
But as the movie progressed Selina's muscles laxed on her death grip on the chair. Everything was calmer in her body and she could feel herself being sucked into the story. The whole movie contraption was a brilliant idea. Whoever had decided to movie pictures and make them sing snappy show tunes, well, good on them.
Kurumi whispered something about a mouse and then Selina noticed that her best friend liked the colorful bird. Of course she would. They were sort of similar in many ways, especially about following the rules and such. But when the bad guy came on the screen Selina rolled her eyes and whispered,
"The villian's name is scar? Wow, could they be any more obvious he is the bad guy?"
Then the movie introduced the young lioness Nala and Selina smiled. Yeah, she liked her a lot. A lot of spunk. She sort of reminded her of Anya Phillips... just a tad. AND THEN THEY SANG AGAIN. Selina leaned over to the Gryffindor Prefect and said,
"I like the whole singing thing... its clever. How do they put it with the pictures by the way...?"
