Suddenly the duck squawked really loudly, causing Dallin to jump in surprise. He was going to be embarrassed and sympathetic, but then he realized that Ellie had fallen back onto her backside as the duck flailed. That... made Dallin laugh. Hard. So hard, in fact, that he also fell back. He kept laughing for a second before leaning forward over his bent knees and trying to stop laughing.

Her last words made Dallin's laughter stop short. His ego? Whatever. The duck had been scared away by the two humans staring at it, not by Dallin saying he was hot. He frowned, tossing his piece of bread into the water. Welp. There ya go, ducks.
