Firstly, because our creeping ivy friend here is very fond of light an so it makes itself available to it by climbing the glass walls. Now the thing you should be considering is what use do we have for a greenhouse with little light. Seeing as most plants require sunlight to grow..."
Seren paused briefly to let this information sink in. Hopefully the students had their listening hats on now. "Many of you were able to tell me that some plants are sensitive to light and therefore prefer dark and often damp conditions, and this is correct. But aside from that, darkness also impacts some plants and trees by influencing their behaviour, calming them down so to speak." "Today I want us to have a look at a couple of different plants... not the ivy." She gave them all a look. The ivy played its role in here... keeping things dark, but now it was time to check out the main attraction for the day. "Now if you'll all follow me please, keep close, and try not to walk into each other... and don't touch anything unless I say so." It was dark after all, and they were going deeper into the greenhouse.
The darkness began to intensify as they made their way deeper, but then soon began to glow a warm redish-orange.
After walking some way down a path, with pots and flowerbeds of plants skirting the area with the occasional rustling of leaves, Seren came to a halt. The strange glow seemed to be coming from a small, old, leafless looking tree. At the base of the tree a few low flames can be seen flickering to indicate a burning. "Can anybody identify this particular plant?" she asked. "Simply name it, I don't need to know its entire history." OOC: Lesson will resume in approximately 12 hours. It's not a devil's snare. So?? What the hell was that? Raven tried to see it on the Herbology books. But she didn't got the answer.
