"These are really good too," he said. "But seriously, Popcorn is a revelation." How do they make something this delicious without using magic? What's it made out of? he wondered.
Conrad couldn't get enough of Popcorn and couldn't wait for the movie to start... whatever that meant. His parents had always said that the Muggle brain was sickly and underdeveloped, in some cases barely adequate to handle even so mundane a faculty as language, and that it was a miracle Muggles had ever invented civilization in the first place. Conrad didn't really understand what that meant, but if Muggles were crafty enough to invent Popcorn, then maybe his parents had underestimated them.
"So the movie is called The Lion King?" Conrad asked. "Are they like books, then? Are there lots of them, or is this the only one?"
"No, this is the only movie ever made, actually. You're really lucky to see it," Melanie said with a smirk, nodding emphatically. Then she chuckled slightly.
"No, there are a lot of movies. All kinds. Comedy, romance, drama, horror, historical, biographical, and a lot of movies mix categories, like romantic comedies."
Melanie put some more popcorn into her mouth and washed it down with a sip of her diet soda. "This one is an animated movie, like I said. It's more of a kid's movie, but a lot of muggles like it. It's a classic."
