It always broke her heard to see people sad or in pain.. and Seren did not deal with sadness or pain very well. She usualy ran from such things.
As Beatrice changed to topic to Lafay, Seren found herself confused. Engaged? Lafay? ... She rarely spoke to the woman, and tried to avoid her at all cost. It's not that she didn't like Lafay, it's just that the woman intimidated her.

Beezus smiled. Professor Seren did have a very important place in her heart and it was overwhelming to hear those kind words from her. Yes, she was that. Cheerful but she was also soft and she breaks down easily.
Moving on to the Professor Lafay engagement, she noticed that the Gryffindor Head of House wasn't that interested, unlike the students that made that news a big topic.
