Her date for the evening had been a no brainer--she was accompanied by Ian Pearson, her oldest friend from Hogwarts despite the fact that he was a Ravenclaw. Still, Ian came from a VERY wealthy family and probably had gotten his own invitiation, but she was NOT going stag to this thing. Absolutely not.

Ian had his arm locked with Gabi's and grimaced as they walked into the Entrance Hall. The place was nearly deserted! He turned to Gabi and frowned. "I thought you said we were going to be fashionably late," he grumbled as he eyed the empty area.

Gabi sighed and gently nudged her date in the arm with a chuckle. "Well, obviously everyone had the same idea as us. I just hope the Minister arrives soon...I haven't gotten a chance to introduce myself yet and I'm sure he'd be very pleased to hear about my exploits in the German Ministry," she explained, smoothing her dark hair as she spoke. He better hurry up too, because she had a bit of a curfew--that babysitter she'd hired for Tucker would only be able to stay so late.

"You, waiter man!" Ian said, walking over to the man (Armen) who had just opened the door. "Do you know when the Minister is expected to arrive?" he asked.

Gabi followed him and smacked him hard on the arm. "Ian! Don't be rude--don't make me regret bringing you," she told him with a playful grin. She turned to the employee that Ian had just RUDELY insulted and smiled at him. "I apologize on behalf of my date," she said. "He sometimes forgets his manners when he leaves the estate," she added with a slight eyeroll.

Yes, Ian was rich--but not necessarily polite.
After opening the doors to the Entrance Hall, Armen was well and ready to head back into the depths of the Ballroom and find a spot to hide behind the buffet table but was stopped by a rather rude male voice.

Closing his eyes and taking a breath to keep himself from shouting at the guy who had called him waiter-man, Recard turned around and looked at him and his rather attractive date. "No I am sorry sir, the Minister doesn't clear his itinerary with me." he gave a curt nod to the man and then turned to look at the woman as she addressed him with an appology.

"Not at all madame." He was rolling his eyes every second in his head. This job was so degrading. "I hope you enjoy your evening Miss...?"
