Vlimia was the most nervous she had ever been. She had been more scared, but never more nervous. While she waited for her turn, Vlim tried to calm herself, so she barely heard her name echo around the Great Hall. But Vlimia heard it faintly, and rushed up to the stool. When it was put on, the hat flopped over her eyes and half her nose.
"Well then, Vlimia. You are very understanding, you have a thirst for knowledge, you are very brave - you would do well in any house but Slytherin."
Vlim heard a tiny voice in her ear that she was tempted to swat away, but she left it there. As she listened, her face fell. Anything BUT Slytherin? She needed to be in Slytherin or she would have to lie to her parents -
"Ah, I see you have pressure to be a Slytherin. But is Slytherin the house that you really want?"
Vlimia thought YES, YES, YES. And then thought NO, NOT AT ALL. Slytherin wasn't what she wanted - it was what her parents wanted. She wasn't going to let them rule her Hogwarts year.
"Well, you certainly have defiance, and a very independant side, but those are buried deep. I think RAVENCLAW can help you with that.
Vlimia felt relieved that the Sorting was over, and ecstatic that she was a Ravenclaw and not a Slytherin! She skipped over to the table with blue ties and books, and sat down happily.
