"She doesn't." The Head Boy gestured to the nameless girl in an accusing tone. And while they were at it...he could point a few others, yes? So very Hufflepuff of him. Not that he saw others at the moment.
He kind of wanted to say that they were stuck with the girl anyway, but that would be too mean...
"Of course." He shrugged, as if everyone knew about said fact. See? A true Hufflepuff would've asked the Sorting Hat. One more reason for her not being one.
Really? So now she wanted to be one? Good thing she wasn't. "Aren't you happy I said you weren't one, then?" Girls were confusing, he knew this, he just didn't know that the confusion began so early in their years. His face denoted no confusion, though. He was forever sure that she was sorted into the wrong house. "For one, Hufflepuffs don't go around complaining of the Sorting Hat's decisions." That was the most important one.
"Also, everyone is trying to make you feel welcome. And you're not letting them." Not Hufflepuff of her. "I hardly see the point in making you feel welcome if the same attitude remains." Just a waste of time, honestly.
Oh, so her name was Adeline! "Adeline." He said, with one nod. "I'm Treyen Lockhart. Hufflepuff, as you can see...and also Head Boy." The badge was there, so that was also obvious.
Arya looked at Treyen, then the girl, and rolled her eyes at the explanations he gave her as to why she didn't belong. Honestly, he was being so un-Hufflepuff right now by not welcoming her the proper way, but he was also proving a very good point that kept her from giving him looks for trying to scare away the little girl.
"Don't let Treyen discourage you," She looked to the firstie with a kind expression.
"Just because you don't display Puff qualities right now, doesn't mean you won't ever. They tend to show when you least expect them." Though clearly they wouldn't be showing right now. Not with Treyen feeding her belief that she didn't belong.
Was she gonna have to have a TALK with him about this bluntnes of his and how the ickly babies might not get it? Hm.
