. OOC: They're not at the paddock just yet =)
Hmm? A silent one? Well okay then. Atticus sent a smile at the boy before turning his attention to the next student that came up.
Hmm, this girl seemed to know who he was already...and it was immediately apparent from her next sentence. "Ah, yes, it seems I do know your father. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Greingoth," he replied with another smile and nod.
Another silent one? Atticus simply smiled and once more turned his attention to the next student that came over.
Atticus shook his head. "I'm not a professor." Not really anyway. But he would address that once everyone was here. "Good afternoon, though." He smiled.
Skipping? That was usually a good sign, yes? He was glad some were so enthusiastic. "Hello," he replied, smiling.
This one had definitely been expecting someone else. The real professor, obviously. "It's quite alright," Atticus replied with a kind smile. Then he shook his head. "No, I'm not a professor. Just a substitute."
Atticus shook his head. "I'm not a professor. But good day." He smiled.
Atticus returned the smile. "Hello!"
French? Interesting. "Good afternoon," he replied with a smile and a polite nod.
Atticus once again shook his head but still smiled. "Hello to you as well. But I'm not a professor."
Ah, this one seemed to have caught on. He nodded. "That's right." He smiled. "Good afternoon."
He shook his head at the "professor" part but didn't correct the boy verbally since he already sort of corrected himself. "Good afternoon," he said instead and smiled.
Hearing laughter from a pair of boys just a few feet away, Atticus turned his attention to them, raising an eyebrow slightly. What was so funny over there? Hopefully it was nothing about him. But so long as they stopped once class started, he wouldn't take any point.
And here was another enthusiastic student! Excellent! Atticus was thrilled that there were others who loved the class like he did. "Good afternoon," he said, smiling. And then - she was thanking him? He hadn't expected that. "You're quite welcome. I'm happy to be here." Nervous as well, but she didn't need to know that. "Good day," Atticus said, smiling at the girl. "Hello," he replied, still smiling of course.
"Man sir"? Well, it was more accurate than professor, he supposed, and she seemed pretty excited to be here, so he'd accept it. He nodded at her salute. "Hello." "Good day!" he replied. More enthusiasm. Excellent! "Hello," Atticus replied. Hmm? Was he carrying the girl's books? Interesting. Perhaps they were dating? Or maybe that was normal. He didn't really keep up with what sorts of habits male and female teenagers had nowadays. "Hello." "Professor Man"? Only half right. He shook his head. "I'm not a professor, and I haven't introduced myself yet." He would though, but only once all the students arrived. Otherwise he'd be repeating himself far too much. "Hello," he said, smiling as she said she was looking forward to the lesson. "Excellent! I'm glad to hear that." "Good day," he replied with a nod and a smile. "Good day," he said, greeting her with a smile. "But I'm not a professor."
He smiled. "Hello." "Hello," he said, smiling.
He nodded at the last one to arrive. "Hello." He smiled.

Alright, so it seemed it was time to get started. "Good afternoon, everyone," Atticus said, smiling and waiting for them all to quiet down and turn towards him before continuing. "My name is Atticus Aldredge, Head of the Magical Creatures Department in the Ministry of Magic, and I will be filling in for your Care of Magical Creatures professor for this lesson.
"Now, I'm sure you are all eager to get started," he hoped they all were anyway, "so please follow me." He motioned for them to follow, then turned and began heading down the path. After just a couple minutes of walking, they reached the edge of a paddock, which was empty except for the black tarp covering what looked to be a rectangular-shaped box.
Atticus stopped and turned to the class. "Before I call out the creatures," he began, "I'd like you to tell me what you know about hippogriffs. What do they look like? And how are they classified by the Ministry of Magic?" OOC: Class has officially started! Anyone posting their character arriving after this post is late and will lose points. If you are just now joining us, pretend your character has been here the whole time and answer the question(s). " All I know is that it is half eagle and half horse, Sir. I don't know much more." said Justin
