All except Damien - he reserved a special grunting growl for his friend. "I just want to smash their heads together and try and get it through to them. Do you think that's legal?" he asked, turning his eyes in the Auror's direction.
When Damien mentioned Van, Gabe knew he was right. The boss would ultimately have the last word on what to do with them all. He turned his eyes on Gina. He'd tried to be reasonable with her, but it certainly didn't seem to be working. And that darn man and his shouting was not helping. Gabe was almost wishing that Lights would take up the challenge and deck him.
And when Recard showed up it was the final straw. They would deal with him in a minute, or maybe Damien would do it all by himself - that'd be fun to see. But right now, Gabriel was putting his wand to his throat to enhance his voice. "ENOUGH!" He turned around and looked at all the protesters, a calm expression on his features. "If you wish to protest in a calm and peaceful manner inside the Ministry, then you will do so behind this cordon!" A flourish of wand and a large area was fenced off with tape and hoardings. "Anyone daring to leave it will be deemed to be committing an offence and there are plenty of MLE employees here who will arrest you and put you in holding. For your own good."
As much as it pained him to to threaten people who were trying to do good, he had to for now. "I appreciate what you are all trying to do," that was said with a shooting glance towards Recard, "but my job is to ensure the safety of EVERYONE inside this building - and I will not allow a riot to start."
Removing his wand, Gabriel walked over to Recard, and stood shoulder to shoulder with Damien. "You don't need to have your wand out, Recard. The MLE have that covered. Despite what you may believe, we're capable of doing a job without 'help'" quote marks in the air? Check. "from the Transportation Head." And if you don't Damien will hex your face off. Not that that would be a bad thing. Probably an improvement. "I'm not trying to start a riot. You all are going to start it. We are peacefully demonstrating. We aren't forcing anyone in or out, we're merely making a stand." She said and shook her head. Quote:

This was a matter between Dept heads. "You think I didn't do my job?" and that knife began to twist. "I never thought I'd say this Armen, but I would prefer you never spoke to me again." Quote:

This was strickly about him. And he hoped that Gina would be able to see that some day. Or maybe not. "Gina please...you have to understand." Esteban tried and then saw Gavin from his Department as well. Oh boy, not good, he was for sure going to have to transfer Departments now....oh boy. Esteban couldn't decided what he even wanted to do anymore. No...don't be like that. You made your decision. "Oh, I understand." She said bitterly. "You're a father now. You need the money from work to support your family. But believe me Estaban, when your child grows up thinking he should be honored to clean someone's toenail clippings, THEN you will understand." He didn't draw his wand as he approached and in fact he raised his voice, intending to be heard by his own employees and obeyed. "Wands away." He glanced around at them. They were just doing their jobs. "They are not the enemy, MLE." Van nudged through the crowd and stepped into the fountain himself, offering one hand in supplication to Gina Latorta. "Will you give me just a moment of your time, Gina? I have to ask you something of the utmost importance." He spoke gravely and his expression was sincere. He needed the woman's help, her cooperation, or everything would be for nothing. The safety of the people was at stake and Evander was concerned that those who were striking didn't know how very at risk they were. The cult was not simply some mundane organisation that had political power and liked flowers and trees and all that rubbish. No. They were murderers. They were tyrants. People that got in their way died or disappeared with alarming regularity. Van didn't want to see Gina one of those people.
Through all this he ignored Recard entirely.
"Thank you Evander, for making them see reason." She was getting tired and her poor bones were hurting. "You have a moment of my time." She said staying where she was. "Go on."
