Alyssa raised her hand looking first to see that she wasn't interrupting someone else who was about to give an answer to the Professor's question. She also hoped that by raising her hand, the Professor wouldn't get upset with her for raising a question when it was supposed to be answer time right now. But Alyssa was really interested to know what the answer to her question was.

So she asked,"Professor is there a specific distance that one can send a patronus? How far can one's patronus go? It looks like one doesn't need to keep eye contact with it, but does that mean that the Patronus may be able to travel to the other side of the world, if the message receipient happens to be there or does the strength of the Patronus wane over distance and time?" Alyssa hoped that she wasn't asking a stupid question.
