"I didn't take them, because I hadn't started here yet," he said, a hint of bitterness creeping in to his voice. He hadn't given much thought to his home over the past few days, and of course he had just ruined it. "I'm supposed to be taking them next year, with my NEWTs, this year they said they were going to tell me catch up on what I've missed for five years." He shrugged.
