Layla took the glass of water and took a sip before resting it neatly on a coaster. Her eyes followed him as he proceeded to pour himself a drink. She hadn't eaten much so having firewhiskey on an empty stomach would equal tipsy Layla.
She nodded as he assured her that she was in no trouble. With that matter dealt with she relaxed a bit more in her chair. The pleasant smile then reminded her why she was still in the department and so supportive of the man in front of her. He cared for his employees, unlike the Bole guy.
The woman smiled as he relayed her works statistics back to her. How he said it made it sound very impressive indeed, even though she had spared very little time thinking about the quality of the work she was producing. She just tried her best to be productive and efficient.
The moment Armen said promotion Layla's eyes brightened. It was perhaps the first time she showed any kind of excitement at work. Business was business after all.
"A promotion..wow..Mr.Recard, I would love to be promoted, though, I quite like working in the Portkeys division."
Armen watched as the Portkey delviery woman was stunned to hear that she was being given a promotion, moments like this made him realize just how wonderful of a person and boss he was. He was such an amazing man, it was perfectly clear.
"Ah, well that is where the chocolate frog gets sweeter. You will not have to switch divisions, I have an opening as a Muggle Item Researcher in the Portkey Office it just so happens." he said leanign forward on his elbows, his fingers pressed against his lips in a grin; waiting for her reaction.
"It is a considerable monetary raise of course." Yes Galleons were what made the world go round these days. He knew this.

Ophelia pulled out her self-inking quill and wrote on her own bit of parchment as the man spoke. She looked up when he offered the paper and then the key. "Of course." She wouldn't like.. give anyone the key or anything. She wouldn't want someone getting into HER place either.
She scribbled on the parchment before glancing up at him again, "Nothing you're allergic to?" Sounded like a legit question to her.
She didn't want to accidentally kill the man.
She did like busy work, though. It always made the day go by faster and felt like you got something well accomplished. As long as she had something to do, she was sure this would work out fine. "Thank you." She smiled and nodded. Though, time would only tell if she was REALLY glad to be at the Ministry or not...
Allergies? Well, well, well this one was taking her job seriously. He should definately mention any allergies he had to her in order to protect himself, and that way she could protect him.
"Ah yes, I am allergic to pepper. So you will need to ask the food preparers to please leave that off." he nodded. Now that he had an assitant he was naturally going to have her taste all of his food before he ate it, so...
"You're welcome Ophelia. Do you have any questions for now?" he asked curioulsy eyeing the girl. He was sort of wondering where Borr had gotten her.
