Stop talking about studying? Thank you very much. Though how Treyen picked up on her oh-so-subtle way of changing the subject, Ellie'll never know. Heh.

Studying outdoors appealed to her most of all, actually. "You can do that?" She was NEW to this. And was constantly surrounded by people who studied in her dorm. There were tables just for that kind of thing in the Common Room. Obviously, Ellie took it to mean that studying was solely an indoors activity. But if they could do so outside, it'd be awesome.

He could just nod yes or no to that. Then he wouldn't technically be talking about studying anymore. And Ellie wouldn't be able to come up with follow up questions. And the subject could finally be dropped in its entirety.

The girl nodded, "I heard you...I was just hoping a 'just kidding' was going to follow or...or something." Because he couldn't...shouldn't be serious. Then she shook her head, "I can't afford a day away. Besides, we just had a holiday. I didn't practice at all on Christmas." Accomplishment? Yes it was. She also had to sneak out to practice a couple of times, because her mom had literally locked her inside to keep her from practicing. Something about too much practice in the snow and cold would make her sick. Pffft. "And I don't see how not practicing could do any good." It was the practicing bit that made perfect, after all. Not the stay-away-for-a-day bit.
