He laughed at her compliment. "I'm an amateur Kurumi" yeah, that's the word. Amateur. He draws for fun.
Jonathan somehow felt at ease hugging Kurumi. He doesn't normally gives hug nor takes hugs but right now, he just likes it. And thankfully, she didn't mind at all. Jonathan was anxious enough she would push him away and maybe make her feel more awkward. So it's a relief she didn't freak out when he hugged her.
Of course, "mothers will always be worried about their little cubs" he said patting her head. Even his mother, Jonathan finds it hard to escape from her. Thankfully Nobi is always there to distract her. "that sounds delicious" cake. Jonathan loves cakes, especially chocolate cake with pumpkin juice. It's a weird combination but he loves it.
And speaking of cakes. Jonathan laughed harder when Kurumi suggested they would bake together "I'm better off eating Kurumi. My hands doesn't have the cooking skills like you have." he said while raising his two hands. Ryu taught him in the summer, he failed miserably and now her mother, and he still failr miserably.
Jonathan shopped over the holidays and remembered Kurumi when he saw a pile of scarves in one area of a particular store. At the time, it took him about 30 minutes to pick an appropriate color, size, length and whatnot. "It's a christmas present." his smile grew wider as the look on Kurumi's face brighten. Jonathan zipped back his bag pack and carried it on his back as he watched Kurumi try it on. "Looks good on you too" he complimented her. At least, he picked a nice color for her.
Jonathan was fixing his hair and getting rid of snow when suddenly out of nowhere, Kurumi kissed him on the cheeks. His face looked happy but at the same time surprised. Luckily, his jaw didn't drop and he didn't act like a complete fool of himself. He looked at her at that moment, speechless. He wanted to say A LOT of things but nothing was coming out. It was as if his tongue was frozen by the snow.
"I'm glad you like it?" that was the best he could do. He tried to act casual about it, like he was okay or something. He was about to ask her when she suddenly interrupted by rummaging her stuffs. She got him a present too?
"it's okay. You didn't need to give me one" he went closer.
Kurumi laughed. "
I bet you are just being modest." She stuck her tongue out playfully and leaned her head against his chest, just for a moment. She looked up when he mentioned the word cubs. "
Does that mean you admit to having a little bit of Gryffindor in you?" Honestly, from what she had seen of Jonathan she wasn't sure that Slytherin was the right house for him. He seemed far to friendly and nurturing to be a snake - unless she wasn't seeing his true colors.
"
I've...never received a Christmas present before, um, I mean, not from anyone at Hogwarts." And especially not from a boy. Her cheeks were now the color of rip peaches, and she pressed her fingers to her lips. Had she really just kissed him on the cheek? He didn't seem to mind, so that was good. Still, she wondered what was going through his head. How he was thinking about the gesture. She was almost too afraid to ask. In her own awkwardness, she missed the fifth year's. Just as well, it only would have made her more awkward than she already was.
"
Mother taught me how to knit last year, so I am still new at this," she said, already putting a disclaimer on what she was about to give him. Slowly, she pulled a
green teddy bear out of her bag and handed it to him. "
I-I thought that with your OWLs coming up this term, that he could be a sort of good luck charm." Hence the four leaf clover on his tummy. In fact, she had performed some runic magic on the bear the other day to help whoever held him focus better. Perfect study companion, right?
