"Ultimately this list contains the essential characteristics of each of the numbers zero through nine. As such, what might this indicate for a combination of numbers such as 47?" Fina asked. Nice random, two digit number.

Vashti briefly wondered whether she ought to write all that down in her notes before eventually deciding that she would. Sure, it was all in her textbook, but writing it down would help her remember it so she wouldn't have to always use her textbook - and that would be a good thing, right? Right. So she picked up her quill again and began scribbling the list on the blackboard onto her parchment.

As she wrote, she half-listened to the answers the other students were giving, using the other half of her focus to figure out one that she could give. By the time she finished and set down her quill, she had thought of one. Her hand was soon in the air.

"Typically in Arithmancy we reduce two digit numbers like 47, so when you add the four and the seven, it equals eleven which wouldn't be reduced because it's a master number. Eleven means things like 'an inspirational messenger' and a 'reformer of world problems', but I think it still possesses some of the qualities of the four and seven from the original number. I mean, if someone is an inspirational messenger, they're probably pretty wise, and they've probably done at least some research and investigating to figure out what their message is. And if they are going to reform the world's problems, that requires some wisdom too, as well as hard work and endurance, since it's not really a simple or easy thing to accomplish."

That...came out a bit longer than she'd intended. Did that even answer the question?

"So that's what a 47 could indicate." Now it did. Maybe. She lowered her hand anyway.
