Because believe it not, having your head tilted back and you gazing upward was not really practical. "I have some shallow bowls. If you need more, one of the older students competent in charm work can use the duplicating charm. You'll also need about 5-10 medium sized stones. And water, which you could use your wands for or get from the lake..." the latter was what he had to do.
"Lay your stones carefully around the edge of the bowl and then fill up the middle with water." Thereos glanced around to make sure they understood. "If you wish, you may also do this on the ground, with no bowl, but you'll need to stack the stones higher to add more water, so it doesn't all seep into the ground."
Maddy quickley ran in and grabbed one of the first blowls, she did not want to be one of the last ones to get one. She giggled at one of the Hufflepuff kids who diddn't get one. She brought the bowl with her while she collected stones so nobody stole it without her looking. She grabbed 7 stones, a good divination number, and transported them in her bowl, over to the lake where she set up her station. She set the rocks in a circle and aquired some water from the lake by scooping it out with her bowl.

Relaxing his mind a bit before speaking, he nodded. "Right then. So you're almost ready. You have your bowl of water. When you look into water, there are good chances that you will see what exactly?"
ooc: if you didn't get to do the first activity, feel free to do it later and add it onto the current stuff. The lesson will remain open for [about] another 12 hours to allow you to RP the activity =)
Before looing into her bowl, Maddy guessed
"We'll see the reflection of the sky, and birds flying in the sky" Then she looked into the bowl, that's exactly what she saw
"and we also see a reflection of ourself when we look in" Maddy added.
