Remus turned and got an apron and put it on, not getting his eyes off the oven. His years living alone and single had surely teach himsome things to work in there.
"First taste of what?" Remus asked, half his mind on this. He turned and smiled at Tonks. "It's OK, thanks for the offer of help, I think I can manage."
He did a double take and added, "Actually, Marcella is with Sirius and the Kristi and Nick were hungry so..." He took bread and slized it putting some butter quite fastly in it. "Here, an apperitive so you won't starve while I am at it. Help yourself, and do you think you can hand Nick and Kristi some? You get a good excuse to check on them."
He dropped the knife and handed Tonks a basket with the bread slizes, a preoccupied expression on his face.
"They have been too secretive since I arrived," he said, "but I am in no possition to ask questions or just pop into their lives. I am guessing you have a better understanding of the situation than I do, with luck may even be friends --?"
Remus was interrupted in mid sentence by a loud thump noise coming from the basement, he looks at Tonks as if looking for an answer there.
