And no, by that i do not mean that eating apples will keep you from being sick. I mean that apples will keep Healers away." And there was a BIG difference between the two.

He looked around."That idea that the expression was 19th century is completely wrong. In the 19th century was when Muggles heard the expression and coined it as their own, because as we all know, muggles steal a bunch of wizarding ideas.. This expression actually dates back to way before that to the 14th century. Muggles took it in the sense that apples had properties which would help them from getting sick. The expression was actually what let Muggles to continue research on apples." But the whole Muggle idea wasn't the point here. "In the 14th century. This expression was created by a wizard who rarely gets credited for it named Chauncey Oldridge." Poor old Chauncey. "He is actually famous for something else which ties into the creation of the expression." He nodded his head. " Who knows what that is?"
Merlin, Professor Scabior sure could be long-winded sometimes! Tori sat perfectly still in the front row, her mouth slowly dropping open, half in surprise at the professor's vast knowledge of apples and expressions, and half because he was so jaw-droppingly gorgeous out of boredom.

"Um," she raised her hand, "Chauncey was the first victim to die of dragon pox in 1379, like waaaaay before the cure had been invented."

But how did this relate to apples? "Perhaps Chauncey caught dragon pox from eating a bad apple?"
