Adam had led the way to the thestrals, JB bounding along beside him and Louisa excitedly. He certainly hoped that the puppy's energetic demeanor didn't scare them off...they were relaxed and timid creatures after all. Once he was sure that they were close enough to the woods that he would be able to see them Adam held up a hand for Louisa to stop.
"Alright...here, take an apple," Adam said, pulling one out of his bag and handing it to her. "I think I see one on the edge there, but we should approach it slowly in order not to frighten it or anything."
