Rafe was reviewing everything he could remember about the waltz. "I suppose I should take the lead..." And he knew he could lead primarily with his right hand on her back. Check. "When dancing, resistance should be maintained for forward, backward and sideward motion," he mumbled to himself.
Rafe took in a deep breath. He stepped forward on his left foot, "One," he whispered. Then he stepped with his right foot to the side, "Two," and then drew his feet together, "Three." He was trying to create the rise and fall of the waltz as gracefully as possible and couldn't help, but finding himself looking at his feet from time to time. The more he preceded to dance, the more he stopped counting and could look comfortably into Marilyn's eyes.
Marilyn was trying to let him lead her, really...But something was wrong here.
"Rafe?" He kept glancing down at their feet. The blonde knew she'd regret what she was about to say...but for them to do this successfully, it needed to be said.
"Stop thinking about it so much and let our bodies move together naturally. Only part of the dance is technique..."
She only hoped he didn't take it as an open
invitation...
"The most basic Waltz begins with the Closed position and changes into the Natural turn..." She hoped them already dancing was okay. She in NO WAY wanted to lose more points. Ugh, it was just so embarrassing...and as a Seventh Year, unacceptable.
