Finally! He had other things to think about, and the one person he had to thank for that was Ellie, because he took in her expression. It was hard to miss, especially since his eyes seemed to think no other place was worth looking at.

"You don't like it when Mr. Stryker speaks French, do you? I find it incredibly amusing, especially when you try to do so," he was doing this on purpose, by the way, talking about Stryker, because it helped his mind.

Oh, come on! Congratulations? The boy rolled his eyes and chuckled just a little, "Thank you? Don't even try to step on your toes, by the way. Try not to ruin this for me? At least for one dance." Which is all they were going to do in here, correct? Just one dance, or were they meant to change partners at one time and practice something else. He knew he heard something about switching something but he was completely lost back then, so he had no idea what Mr. Stryker had meant.

He still held her close to him, as if he was never going to let go, BUT the grip on her was almost non-existent, or rather...lightly, as if she was something that he needed to treat with the utmost care.

That wasn't so far from the truth, because ONE single word could make her mood turn upside down. Yet that ONE single word described how she was looking right now.
