Sometimes you step in something unpleasant, and it can be pretty bad. Sometimes you don't but it doesn't occur to you to be thankful that you didn't. People just aren't ever thankful enough of what DIDN'T happen to them.

Of course, I speak my genius out loud because whenever I do, someone ALWAYS says they've heard it before from someone else and I look like a rotten fruit. Or an idiot. Or like my head is filled with either plum pudding or a sandwich mixture of mustard, ketchup, and the pickle stuff I can never remember the name of. Either way, the metaphor means I can come up with some pretty witty stuff, but it's not really substantial.
Anyway, I was in the position where I half stepped in the crap and half didn't. It's pretty crappy I got stuck in Britain. But it would be even more crappy if I was sent to like, Ethiopia. Ew.
However, the one thing here I could enjoy was a quiet space. Sigh.
