Instead of concentrating on her irritating brother, she focused on the feather again. "Wingardium Leviosa!"

Due to the intensity of the emotion she was feeling, the feather immediately flew up and hit the ceiling of the library. Sarah glared at the feather, imagining it was her brother. She loved him, because she was related, but she also hated him. Slowly she relaxed and the feather floated down.

"Sorry," she said sheepishly.

"Don't be," said Jez, staring at Sarah thoughtfully. "You were using your anger at your brother to do magic, weren't you? That's interesting ... maybe different energies help people do magic better." She swished and flicked her wand at the feather, concentrating on all the times her little brother Than had put frogspawn in her bed. If that didn't make her blood boil, nothing would. "Wingardium Leviosa!" The feather shot towards the ceiling so fast it took Jez a few moments to register it was there at all. "Whoa!" She grinned at Sarah. "It worked!"
