Technically they did mention it in the "Seven Harrys"-scene. Tonks said "we have news", but was cut off by Moody. I don't think someone who hasn't read the books understands it, but come on: If you want the full storyline, read the books! They NEED to make a cut somewhere, and I prefer this part of the story being gone if it gives us more time with the main characters.
