Cool! Maybe her Dad and Beezus' could be friends. But would Erin's Dad be able to give time in meeting other people? Not quite but she still tried.
"My Dad and your Dad could meet up and have a drink..." she said pausing a little then gave a big smile,
"...or two," raising her index and middle finger together.
This is what she's avoiding, the drama.
"Good that your mother's great," she replied. Erin was expecting more of a detailed answer from Beezus, unfortunately, she didn't.
"My Mum's..." she paused then in a cracked voice,
"My Mum's gone," she forced a smile.
"My Dad, well, my Dad worked extra hard ever since she died," she finished.
