When Chris looked up he saw the girl that now stood before him. He gulped a little. She seemed to have been in his House and she didn't look like she was old enough to not be new. But he still wasn't sure. He nodded.
''Ye... yeah'' He studdered, this stutter was getting on his nerves. Ever since his parents left him on the train platform he felt so alone and whenever someone tried to converse with him, all his social skills were thrown out a window.
He used to be able to talk away to people, well... the people that apperered at his house randomly and decided to talk about how wonderful it was to see such a young boy already focused on his studies when he didn't even go to school yet. Maybe now was the time to try and make a friend from him house, better yet... maybe his year!
''I... I'm Ch... Chris'' He tried to smile. But his lips were so tight and small he wasn't sure if they were even showing. He looked down at the book and back to the girl.
''Do you... like, Div... Divination?'' He was starting to get better at this. It was like he was taking his baby steps social wise again. He hoped she didn't find him strange or anything. After everything going on, maybe it was best to make some friends. He always thought it might be better to not converse with other and just do his studies and leave. But... he was starting to get lonely, and it was only the first couple of days in first year. He really did need this to go well.
"I'm Jezabel, but everyone calls me Jez," she smiled. "Or they should by now. I'm in first-year." Jez noticed Chris's stutters. She remembered her own agonising shyness at the very beginning of term. It had gotten better when she made new friends, definitely. She thought Chris could use some company. "I'm not sure about Divination. My sister Desdemona loves it, but I think she's a little loopy. Not from the subject," Jez added hastily, not wanting Chris to get the wrong idea. "I think most of my whole family aren't right in the head. Desdemona just fits in." Jez realised she was probably blabbing on about stupid things now, and blushed. "I just like learning things," she admitted. "Anything, just so long as I'm taking in new information. I love reading. Do you?" She guessed so, from the fact that he was in the library and all, but best to ask before making assumptions. "Have you been around the castle yet? I spent ages exploring every inch! There's an awesome treehouse in the grounds, and a waterfall, and the forest, and of course the library!"

The quill shuddered a little but and almost started to float up... but then Sarah noticed a pretty light patch made by the stained glass window and the feather stopped moving.

Jez laughed as Sarah was distracted by the light patch. "I'm not laughing at you," she giggled. "Just ... you kind of remind me of my little brother Than. He couldn't concentrate on anything either." Hard to explain, if the person you were talking to didn't know Than personally. "You want to try that one again, or shall I show you another one?"
