Carter was a good mate and all, but just the idea of knowing someone so well and taking him seriously would be an adjustment. "Well, I would have to try out...who knows? You might have some firsties that are way faster than me? I'm a bit rusty and getting old after all." Rafe hadn't been on a broom in a long time. He apparated everywhere he traveled these days. "What position are you thinking of taking up?" Rafe had seen the captains work mainly as Seeker, so he was curious if Carter would be up for that additional stress.

Rafe crossed his arms as he listened to Carter's tone change to something more serious. "Nothing happened?" Rafe was confused. Did he mean someone trying to attack them? Or maybe something between him and Marilyn? Rafe did get the reports, so he knew almost everything that took place between them. "And yeah... those notes... I just wanted her to know that someone was doing something to protect her. If she knew it was me writing, I don't think she would've ever opened them. It was the only way." Rafe hoped Carter wasn't getting the impression that Rafe was going to move in on Marilyn or anything. That wasn't his intention at all. He was actually completely content with Marilyn and Carter being together. Even if Rafe wasn't Marilyn's boyfriend, he didn't care as long as she was happy and safe in this world.
