When Dallin finally did speak Adam had to admit that he was surprised. He was asking Adam for advice? Well...perhaps he wasn't mad at Adam for telling Louisa to express her feelings.

"Um...I don't know if she's planning on trying to come and talk to you or not," Adam said with an apologetic frown. "I mean obviously she's been avoiding the situation, but maybe if you did try to approach her again, maybe it would work." Adam felt for Dallin and he thought that if Louisa could find a way to get back to the friend stage with Dallin, that maybe it would help her...well...hurt less. But of course Louisa was remaining quite quiet about the whole thing to Adam, which surprised him slightly, but he wasn't really pushing Louisa to talk about it since he knew how difficult of a topic it was for her. "I would...uh...prepare yourself for it to not be the friendliest conversation you've ever had with her, but I think if you can force her to get out the frustration, then maybe you guys can have a civilized conversation."

At Dallin's second question Adam couldn't help but shoot his eyes to the ground. After all he was dealing with his own pain at the idea of Louisa being with another guy, but somehow he was managing to remain her friend. "Yeah...I consider her to be a best friend," Adam said with a nod. He could see from the look that Dallin had that he was suspecting that there was something more than what Adam was telling him. "I...uh...I can kind of understand what she's going through," Adam said, not too loudly. He hoped that Dallin was understanding what he was trying to say without having to say it out loud.

Dallin nodded, sighing silently. He supposed that he should have guessed that much. But he had just hoped that Adam might know a little bit more than he did. It seemed like Louisa was hard for everyone to read, though. Dallin shrugged half-heartedly at Adam's suggestion. He didn't really want to approach Louisa. She would probably just run off. Or yell at him. Or hex him. And none of those things sounded at all like something he would like. He laughed a litte, shaking his head. "I don't think we've had one friendly conversation since... last term." That late night in the common room. Because after that there'd been yelling and crying and just plain awkwardness.

Sigh.

A best friend. That's what Dallin considered her, too. Or he had. Right now he pretty much considered her a crazy teenage girl that was at least partly crazy. Maybe best friend fit in there somewhere? At what Adam said next, Dallin's eyes widened and he resisted the urge to look at the fifth year. He knew what Louisa was going through? Meaning... what Dallin thought he meant? "In what way?" Okay, that might be a little personal. But Adam had the option to tell Dallin to mind his own business, of course.
