She slowly opened the door and peeked in. "Sorry to keep you waiting," she said, closing the door behind her and removing her wand from her pocket. "Colloportus. Muffliato." Kurumi wasn't sure how strong her charms were was, or how long it would last, but this should give them at least a good hour of private conversation.
Putting her wand back in her pocket, Kurumi walked over to the bed and leaned on one of its posts, waiting for Selina to begin the conversation.
Selina watched as Kurumi walked into the room. There was silence between the pair for a moment until Kurumi finally spoke. The redhead's hands were a little damp and she placed the picture she was holding down on the sheets on her bed as Kurumi started to perform a few enchantments on the door. She herself stayed quiet until Kurumi walked over and leaned on the bed post. That was a signal, at least to Selina, for her to start to talk. Her breath hitched. Now that the moment was here she was not sure she was going to be able to do this. There were so many times that she played over in her head what she would do when she told Kurumi about Danielle. She had the perfect paragraphs and lines to say. But now that it was here she could not recall one thing she had pre-planned.
So she simply handed Kurumi a
picture and began to speak,
"That is my sister Danielle briefly before she died. She was a year old and would be eleven this year."
She took a deep breath and pressed on,
"Before I was born my Aunt Jennette was born into my father's family. She was the third child and was right under my father in age. My Dad was two years old than her, but when my Aunt was born she showed signs of being less-than-normal. Because it had never happened in their family before my Dad's family thought it was magic. My Aunt, though, had horrible head aches, would blank out for hours and would forget where she was sometimes. My father hated the fact that my aunt, his baby sister, had to go through all of these hard ships. When she was older they finally figured out that she had the gift of sight. She learned to live with it and she now has a successful life, but you know, by being friends with me, seeing the future is not always the easiest gift to have. "When I was born I, like my aunt, showed signs of having the sight. By a year and a half I was having full blown episodes. It hurt my mother so badly and my father hated to see her upset. So they developed a way for me to suppress that part of my magic. From that moment on I never had an episode again and all of my signs disappeared. My family thought that it was gone. So a few months later life moved on. "When I was two years old my sister Danielle was born. She was the cutest thing I had ever seen. I don't remember much of when she was first born except her eyes. They were the most beautiful things I had ever seen. Danny showed no signs of the sight so my family thought that they finally had the perfect family. "A year later Danielle was a year and a half old. I was three and a half old. My Aunt Jennette was over the house and she was playing with the two of us. Danielle was just started to walk and run around the house with confidence. I remember how much fun we had chasing each other around, although she was a bow-legged baby. Anyway, my Aunt Jennette was over and playing with us. Somehow by having her around I must have connected to her sight, but it wasn't until the next day something terrible happened. "The next morning I woke up and I remember having a really bad head ache. I cried for my Mom and she gave me a Potion that helped my pain a little. Then I went to go and play with Danielle as soon as I felt better. We were in the midst of playing when suddenly my head ache came back with a burning. All I remember is one minute I was fine and the next I exploded... or my magic did. The sheer force of all that I had pent up knocked me into a coma and I was out for three weeks.
Selina started to tear up at the next part,
"When I woke up Danielle was dead. I had killed her. My Seer ability had killed her, the curse had done my sister in! But it was my magic, my fault. I murdered my baby sister and there is nothing I can do to change it."
At this point the tears were running free,
"That's why my Mom worked in Australia all of those years, she could not stand to be home. To be reminded of what I had done. That is why my Dad is such a famous Quidditch playr now, he threw himself into his work. I destroyed my family and I can't ever change what I did."
